I’m always grateful for companies who not only think about the practical side of their products but how it will make consumers feel as well.

I’ll be honest and say I care about how I look, even when I go to bed at night. That’s why unsightly anti snoring devices aren’t always at the top of my list.

I know TSD and MAD devices work really well, but I’ll always try out less conspicuous devices too. That’s what drew me to Woodyknows.

The brand developed a range of nasal dilators, and some of their developments are focused on making it almost invisible.

That’s not the only positive remark so let me share my experience so you can see if this is what you’ve been looking for too.

What are Woodyknows Nasal Dilators?

Woodyknows Nasal Dilators ReviewThe Woodyknows dilators range includes different designs of small devices that you insert into your nostrils.

You place them there when you go to bed and take them out in the morning.

How Do Nasal Dilators Work?

Why do you snore? It’s important to match your snoring remedy with the type of snoring you experience.

Nasal dilators keep your nasal passages open at night, so air can flow freely instead of being blocked by:

  • Swelling
  • Collapsed passages (this happens when you relax)
  • Mucus
  • Allergies

Though they’re usually soft and comfortable, they’re strong enough to keep their shapes & force the sides of the passages apart.

These dilators won’t work for everyone though.

If you only breathe through your mouth at night, these may not work since they don’t affect how air travels through your mouth or at the back of your throat.

It’s therefore essential to gauge your type of snoring by going for sleep therapy or asking your partner about your breathing patterns at night.

How Does Woodyknows Work?

How does Nasal Dilator workThe Woodyknows dilators work according to these guidelines, but they’re not long cones; simply two narrow units connected by a firm but small structure.

This is the only part of the dilators you’ll see when inserted because the dilators themselves are pushed inside the nasal passages instead of still showing at the front.

I also have respect for companies who keep on changing to help their customers.

The Woodyknows design has changed over the years becoming softer but stronger.

This means adequate support without being too uncomfortable.

How to Use Woodyknows

This is really easy. You simply insert the small structures into your nostrils until the bridge won’t allow it to go further.

This connector is all you’ll see while you wear them and, in the morning, you can gently pull them out be grabbing hold of it.

Rinse them off—they may have accumulated some mucus—and they’re ready for use again.

What Type Woodyknows Dilators Do I Need?

One size fits all? I don’t think so; not when it comes to my nose.

That’s why I was so impressed with all the different types of dilators this brand provides.

Woodyknows Nasal Dilators SizesThe dilators are available in:

  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large
  • XLarge

That’s still not all because you can also pick between the old and the new design (Advanced pack or the Super Soft design).

If you’re very sensitive to pressure or can’t seem to get used to the regular design the new product may work as it’s super thin and soft.

Note that this can always affect its efficacy, so I suggest you start with the regular pack.

Sizes range from 3/5” (L) x 4.9” (W)x 1/9”(H) to 1” (L) x 3.5” (W) x 1.6” (H). You can find the handy size table here to gauge which one will suit you best.

How Is It Different?

How is Woodyknows Different? You’ll find many nasal dilators in cone forms. These also keep the nasal passages open but are remarkably more uncomfortable because they cover such a large area of your nose’s interior.

The Woodyknows design only requires a narrow piece of plastic to make contact with your nose so:

  • It’s more comfortable
  • It doesn’t affect how the nose hair work
  • It’s less visible than many similar products.

These dilators aren’t round but formed according to the average nose’s natural shape. The soft material will adjust to both round and slotted nostrils.

It will change form enough to afford comfort without it affecting how good the dilator works. You just have to find the most effective size.

Because these dilators are so uniquely designed in terms of shape, they fit quite tightly.

You can wear them while exercising to keep your passages open—which improves breathing—and they won’t fall out.

User Experience

Personally, the reason why I would pick these above other dilators is because they don’t cover too much of the interior of my nasal passages.

They’re less painful to remove because they pull out fewer nose hairs and that’s something I really appreciate.

Unfortunately, they do cause sores from time to time possibly because they fit so tightly. So there are some disadvantages associated with the benefits.

What Consumers Say in Their Reviews

Mixed reviews regarding the My Snoring Solution anti-snoring deviceUsers are excited to find an anti-snoring device that is also effective for some allergy problems.

Even better is that they can exercise with it.

However unique nose shapes—such as one nostril being slightly larger than the other—often create more discomfort than pleasure which means those users don’t sleep well with these.

Price

I love it when brands make it easy for consumers to try something new.

If you’re not sure which one to buy of the many Woodyknows dilators, you don’t have to purchase them in bulk from the start.

Simply try the multi-size packs that contain different sizes. When you know which ones fit best, you can purchase them in packs of three.

The average price for a trial pack or a regular bulk pack is $16 which is more than acceptable given that you can use them for a few days.

The device’s flexibility and structure may wear out over time, so that’s why you buy multi-packs. Have the next one ready when the current unit doesn’t work as well.

There’s no clear direction of how long they’re supposed to last, and if they fit well, they can be used long term.

However, you can expect to see changes in efficacy around day 10. Therefore, a multi-pack of three units will serve you for about a month.

You can find them on Amazon or order from www.woodyknows.com.

The brand even provides a travel case, so you can keep your dilators hygienically clean no matter where you go.

Pros and Cons

Positives

  • Not very visible
  • Designed according to natural nose shapes
  • No drugs necessary
  • BPA free and FDA approved material used
  • Doesn’t affect nose hair functioning
  • Increases air flow for breathing

Negatives

  • Will take time to get used to them at night
  • Must clean daily
  • Won’t work for mouth snorers
  • Can lead to sores in the nose

Verdict

So, I love this product because it’s almost invisible and much less painful to extract in the morning than other dilators I’ve tried.

But I know I still need my MAD and TSD devices to really counter snoring.

In line with clinical studies, these devices are much more effective for my snoring too.

However, I keep the Woodyknows dilators on hand for those nights that I need something less invasive.

Which Product Should I Buy?

questionEvery person has a unique mouth and different needs for their particular snoring, so one that is perfect for one person, may not be the best option for another.

With well over 100 products on the market it can obviously be quite daunting to decide, “Which one?”

To help ease the decision process I have created a comparison chart where you can effortlessly assess each product and its features, price, pros and cons. I have also written several detailed reviews for those devices that I believe to be leading products.

If you would rather not spend a lot of time reading reviews, please take a look at the article linked here: My Mouthpiece Recommendation. It’s a list of three products which I believe, based on my extensive experience, are the best options available to people who suffer from snoring.
